One of Peckham’s premium venues and community spaces, Jumbi celebrate their third anniversary with a classic bday blow-out.

In the three years since its inception, Jumbi has become a staple of Peckham’s nightlife and community movement, inspired by Afro-Caribbean heritage and sound system culture. This summer, the team behind the space have launched SubStake, an augmentation of their vision through the taking over of a neighbouring 1000-capacity warehouse in Copeland Park for a six-week progressive program of art, music and culture, running from 11th July to 19th August.
The weekend just gone saw one of the residencies most anticipated events — Jumbi’s third birthday. Bringing together their community for a night of celebration, the event was one for the history books. There’s plenty more events to come from SubShake this summer, including Reprezent Radio and Rinse FM takeover’s and a mysterious collaboration with architect of rhythm Yussef Dayes.
