Orbital, Yung Lean, Mk.gee: Charlotte Plank tells Wonderland what she had On Repeat whilst making her new EP, “ClubLiminal”.
Hotly-tipped in the alternative pop sphere, rising talent Charlotte Plank is set to culminate her edge and effervescence into a cohesive work. Her EP “ClubLiminal” is set to drop on Friday 2nd May, featuring noteworthy singles like “stargirl”, “ellen” and most recent teaser “candy stores”, and sees the Australian-British artist merging her electronic core with dazzling hooks and sharp songwriting.
Finding the sweet spot between indie vibrance and dance urgency, Plank brings a maximalist yet intimate palette to this new work. She’s currently embarking on a mini tour to showcase the EP too, with a London leg at Oslo, Hackney taking place on 1st May.

Clams Casino ft. Imogen Heap – “I’m God”
One of my all-time favourite pieces of music that has held a firm place on my playlist for years. A pure euphoric soundscape of dreams for any time of day or feeling. Two of my biggest inspirations weaved together on such a special track. Clams Casino’s perfectly haunting, industrial sonics layered with Imogen heaps re sampled angelic melodies.
EKKSTACY – “i walk this earth all by myself”
One of my most played tracks of last year. EKKSTACY delivers such a real message in such a beautifully simplistic and nostalgic way. I could listen to this on loop all day.
Orbital – “Belfast”
A classic, a piece of pure magic by Orbital who have heavily influenced parts of my sound. Cinematic, celestial. A poignant soundtrack throughout my parents’ youth as well.
Aphex Twin – “Xtal”
One of my favourite Aphex Twin soundscapes. Timeless, analogue, angel noise.
The Cure – “Lullaby”
A very special song to me for many reasons. My favourite guitar riff of all time, the best part of the song is the instrumental for me. Also, my first insight into The Cure was through this song being played in the car a lot when I was young. So ahead of its time. A highlight on one of my mum’s uni mixtapes. ‘The Spider-Man song’ ahah.
Yung Lean – “Agony”
Yung Lean inspired me to start making music again in lockdown and I actually uploaded a cover of this on SoundCloud. I found this song just at the right time and became obsessed with him and his creative process. Such beautiful, dark simplicity.
Fontaines D.C. – “Jackie Down The Line”
I scream this song in a shite Irish accent round the house/in the car most days icl. One of the best bands of our generation.
Ashnikko – “You Make Me Sick! (Dora Jar Remix)”
Ashnikko, Dora Jar. Two icons heavily inspiring me right now on one track of pure beauty and rage.
Calibre – “Think Again”
One of the best driving songs ever. Five minutes of Calibre doing what he does best, seamlessly bridging minimal liquid dnb with soul, jazz, euphoria.
Mk.gee – “Dream police”
My most played song of 2024. I think we can all agree Mk.gee is an insanely talented wizard. His sound is so nostalgic yet fresh. I’ve got such a love for 80s sonics and he’s bringing it back in the best way.
