One of Them Days

Premiere date: January 17th
What we know so far: The upcoming comedy film starring Keke Palmer and SZA has become one of the most anticipated of this year since its trailer dropped late last year. One of Them Days will follow two best friends and flat mates who have to figure out how to avoid eviction after one of their boyfriends stole their rent money. PSA: bring tissues, you will be crying of laughter with this one.

Presence

Premiere date: January 24th
What we know so far: The Steven Soderbergh-directed thriller is set to hit the theatres later this month. Flipping the classic horror tale on its head, Presence sees a family move into a new suburban home when, soon enough, they become convinced they aren’t the only ones residing there. How does this film stand out in the horror genre? You’ll have to watch it to find out… but a Julia Fox cameo certainly helps.

Companion

Premiere date: January 31st
What we know so far: Sophie Thatcher, the rising queen of horror thanks to her roles in Heretic and Yellowjackets, is back for another thrilling round, where she plays the role of a robotic companion gone rogue, where independence ends in bloodshed. 

I’m Still Here

Premiere date: February 7th
What we know so far: After its leading lady Fernanda Torres won a Golden Globe for her portrayal of the character Eunice Paiva, all eyes are on I’m Still Here. The political biography drama is based on Marcelo Rubens Paiva’s 2015 memoir of the same name, and focuses on the story of a mother, forced to cope with the disappearance of her husband during the military dictatorship in Brazil.

The Last Showgirl

Premiere date: February 10th
What we know so far: The on-screen comeback of Pamela Anderson is all we’re thinking of. In this poignant drama directed by Gia Coppola, Shelley (played by Anderson) must prepare for her future after her show is abruptly disbanded after its 30-year run. Joined by the likes of Jamie Lee Curtis and Billie Lourd, The Last Showgirl is a reconnaissance of Anderson’s talents, where lies a story of heartbreak and resilience camouflaged by the glitz and glam of rhinestone-clad performances. 

Mickey 17

Premiere date: March 7th
What we know so far: Ever since the release of the critically-acclaimed Parasite, Bong Joon-ho has been the name of everybody’s lips. The director is back with another harrowing story on screen, this time starring Robert Pattinson and based on the novel “Mickey7” by Edward Ashton. The story follows Mickey Barnes, an “expendable” employee whose body regenerates with a new iteration following the death of its predecessor, who comes face to face with a former “multiple” after he unintentionally avoids his own demise.

Opus

Premiere date: March 14th
What we know so far: Babe wake up, a new A24 horror film fronted by Ayo Edibiri is about to drop. Mark Anthony Green’s directorial debut Opus follows a young journalist who has been invited to a missing pop star’s home, where one drink leads to another, and fun and games quickly turn into eeriness and danger.

28 Years Later

Premiere date: June 20th
What we know so far: Following this year’s Nosferatu and Kraven the Hunter, Aaron Taylor-Johnson continues to stun on the big screen. In 2025, the actor will return by playing the role of Jamie, one of the survivors of the Rage Virus which infected the world almost three decades ago, in the third instalment of the 28 Days Later film series.

Wicked: For Good

Premiere date: November 21st
What we know so far: Just one day shy of the one-year anniversary of the release of its first chapter, Jon M. Chu’s Wicked is already coming back for a second round. The upcoming film will pick up where the first one left off, where Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) and Glinda (Ariana Grande) navigate their friendship as they embrace their respective individual identities of the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good.

Frankenstein

Premiere date: TBA
What we know so far: If 2024 was the year of a horror revival, 2025 is the year to fully embrace the genre. Directed by Guillermo del Toro, who has carved a name out for himself through the monstrous Hellboy, Pan’s Labyrinth, and The Shape of Water, Frankenstein is based on the well known tale found in the 1818 novel by Mary Shelley of the same name. With a cast including Oscar Isaac, Mia Goth, Jacob Elordi, and Christoph Waltz, this adaptation is set to be a haunting hit.
