Spotify is opening the doors to their one-night-only performance with Pop legend Miley Cyrus, with the release of Billions Club Live with Miley Cyrus.
I don’t take pleasure in invoking jealousy in anyone, believe me. However, after I tell you this story, I suspect you’ll be seeing green.
Cast your mind to a summer’s evening in Paris – an ideal one at that. There is a blurry haze cloaking the cobbled streets. Streaks of sun bathe picturesque balconies and ornate town houses. Chic Parisians spill out of pastel coloured wine bars, wielding paper-thin glasses full of natural wine. If an evening were to be a poster child for Euro Summer, this would be it.
I’m taking a short walk from Ritz Paris, two champagnes down (please don’t think this is a regular Wednesday evening for me), and headed to the famed Art Nouveau bar Maxim’s. A red rope contains a swarm of people at the club’s entrance. Upon entering we’re met with crushed velvet seats, mosaic carpets and the buzzy hum of sheer excitement. If someone were to stumble upon this intimate spectacle, it wouldn’t take them long to figure out the night’s agenda. Pop icon Miley Cyrus is plastered across attendees’ chests, while others wield signs of adoration directed at the Disney Channel alum – it’s a living, breathing shrine to the legend that is Miley.
In celebration of the star’s induction into Spotify’s coveted Billions Club, the streaming platform took to the French Capital in the name of putting on a one-night-only event, where the lady herself was to perform her impressive roster of hits with a billion-plus streams. And, I was lucky enough to be there to take in the whole, truly incredible thing.
I did say you’d be jealous, didn’t I!
Fear not! The good people over at Spotify aren’t in the mood to gate-keep, and they want you to enjoy the nostalgic numbers and undeniable star quality that we were able to on the night.
Enter, Billions Club Live with Miley Cyrus. Premiering on Spotify today, the concert film opens the doors to Maxim’s for Miley’s 59M monthly listeners so they can enjoy the symphonic sounds of “Flowers” and the ultimate throwback mashup that was “The Climb/We Can’t Stop” for themselves. The cinematic rendition of the live event is a touching tour through Miley’s legacy and is one not to be missed—trust me!
So, let’s put the jealousy to an end, shall we? Get streaming, people!
