Performing at Mad Cool Festival and stopping by UMusic Shop to spotlight some new merch, Royel Otis take Wonderland on a trip Madrid.
Royel Otis, the Aussie troubadours bringing indie Sydney goodness to the globe, are keeping busy this summer. Sets at Glastonbury, Meo Kalorama and more have seen them jetting about Europe, with the latest stop off in sunny Spain for the revered Mad Cool Festival. “We love Madrid they always bring the heat,” they tell Wonderland avidly. “The crowd was so energetic even though they were stuck in the blistering sun.”
During their Madrid pit stop, the boys also took some time out to visit the brand new UMusic Shop. The first retail space from UMusic Hotels, the new location is launching with a special limited-edition capsule collaboration between the group and Mad Cool, with some of the biggest artists around — Olivia Rodrigo to FINNEAS, Alessi Rose to Glass Animals, featuring exclusive merch alongside the Australian pair. It’s a cross-creative-median masterstroke, and the merch looks unfathomably cool.
The rest of the year looks equally hectic for the boys from down-under, with their highly anticipated new album hickey set for release 22nd August via OURNESS/ Capitol Records. They’ll then be touring the record across the States, Europe and back home in Australia in the autumn.
