And while your quest for the perfect tan might be dragging you away from your usual couch-bound state, the slower work pace means you might finally have the hours to catch up on this season’s most talked-about shows. Just as you were about to start drafting your must-watch list… boom, the Emmy nominations drop. Your summer viewing is sorted.
Ben Stiller’s Apple TV phenomenon Severance leads the charge – no real shock there – pulling in a whopping 27 nominations, including Best Drama Series. It’s followed by Colin Farrell’s The Penguin, with 26 nominations, Mike White’s The White Lotus and The Studio, each racking up 23 nods – and The Studio now matching The Bear’s record for the most nominations in a single year for a comedy series.On the nominees front, history is being made on both ends of the spectrum: Matlock’s Kathy Bates becomes the oldest nominee for Best Drama at 77, while Adolescence breakout Owen Cooper becomes the youngest ever nominee for Best Supporting Actor in a Limited/Anthology Series or Movie.
