Blending ’70s soul and rock with a distinct ’90s indie edge, Sadie Gust has crafted a sound that pairs intricate melodies with carefully honed lyricism—brought to life by her powerful vocals and enigmatic stage presence. As she gears up for the release of her forthcoming EP, “Crooked”, Gust unveils a bold new track that remains unmistakably “Sadie Gust” while venturing into darker, more experimental rock territory.

Released via Rainbow Label Records and working with producer, Ed Graves, Gust’s latest single, “Please”, explores the complexities of guilt and self-awareness through the lens of a conflicted narrator. With evocative lyricism and a raw, gritty vocal delivery, Gust delves into the duality of good and evil, weaving a compelling narrative over a rich, atmospheric instrumental. This striking addition to her growing discography further cements her as a distinctive voice in modern rock.

Touching on the writing process behind the track, Gust explains, “My dad had sent me the first two–no three–verses one day, just because, and I immediately fell in love with the concept. I felt it was something no one had really talked about or put into words at all, let alone lyrics. It felt necessary to get out.”

I cranked out the last two verses in a matter of minutes and sent them back to him. I ended up finding some lyrics I’d scribbled in my notebook from months before… the ‘how do I expect to separate myself….’ part… It was a lyric that resonated with both of us a lot for some reason, so we thought it was perfect. That became the chorus, and in no time we had a song. Sometimes things just align. ‘Please’ aligned.”
