From a globe-trotting collaboration for Shygirl to FKA twigs’ long-awaited new album and JPEG MAFIA’s rock-rap revolution, this week’s Wonderlist hits all the right notes.
Shygirl ft. Isabella Lovestory & PinkPantheress – “True Religion”
As she gears up to release a forthcoming EP, “Club Shy Room 2”, the ever captivating and challenging Shygirl has shared a fresh teaser single, “True Religion”. Flaunting her artistic pull and breadth of contact book by enlisting the compelling Honduran Isabella Lovestory and bubblegum bohemian PinkPantheress, Shygirl showcases her attitude-laden dance genius on the thrilling cut.
FKA twigs – EUSEXUA
Over five years since previous album MAGDALENE, FKA twigs returns with a follow-up full-length, EUSEXUA. The creative innovator sounds freer and more daring than ever, with ethereal vocal performances, broad-spanning ambience and glass-shard hooks. The contribution list is eclectic too—from Koreless to North West.
JPEGMAFIA – “PROTECT THE CROSS”
The evolution of avant hip hop legend JPEGMAFIA is utterly unique. Exploring rock tendencies further than ever, the auteur disrupts sonic norms and brings incredible energy on jaw-dropping and progressive new single ”PROTECT THE CROSS”, an effort from the forthcoming extended version of his critically adorned 2024 album, I LAY DOWN MY LIFE FOR YOU.
Matt Maltese – “Anytime, Anyplace, Anyhow”
Another quietly stunning track from magnificent singer-songwriter Matt Maltese? No great surprise, really. His typical rewarding piano cadences and gentle lyrical wit are on full show on “Anytime, Anyplace, Anyhow”.
Djo – “Back Being Basic”
The polymathic Joe Keery is on route to sharing his new album The Crux, under his Djo alias, later this year. A new single has been unveiled, “Back Being Basic”, a charming and uplifting electro-clash jam full of character and feeling.
Viagra Boys – “Made Of Meat”
Stockholm post-punk disruptors Viagra Boys are back with another album in April, entitled viagr boys. A single has been shared, “Made Of Meat”, which is unsurprisingly robust and raucous. Sebastian Murphy’s razor sharp lyricism is full of humour, potency and mayhem.
Mabel ft. King Promise – “All Over You”
Starting 2025 as she finished 2024, pop powerhouse Mabel takes a ride into amapiano sonic territory with the help of Ghanian artist King Promise. The beat is minimalist but magnetic, whilst both vocalists bring emphatic effervescence atop the Magicsticks-produced soundscape.
Jeshi – Airbag Woke Me Up
London’s off-kilter rap brigadier Jeshi has finally shared his sophomore album. Airbag Woke Me Up is downtrodden and furious, gorgeous and gestating, the work of an artist of ardent intelligent, emotional honesty and musical vision. Don’t sleep on this one.
Esme Emerson – “Too Far Gone”
British-Chinese duo Esme Emerson will be revealing their new EP, “Applesauce” in March, and now share a new sun-kissed single teasing the work. “Too Far Gone” is angsty and wistful yet anthemic and tongue-in-cheek, an indie ode full of life and vivacity.
RUBIII – “Twin Flame”
Swiftly becoming one of UK alt R&B’s most prominent names, Birmingham-born singer-songwriter RUBII has risen from the underground into mainstream conversations with a series of fantastic releases. The latest of which is “Twin Flame”, an atmospheric and groove-laden sonic odyssey that sees RUBII flex her vocal cords.
M Huncho – “Tuff Right?”
The final look at his forthcoming mixtape “U2OPIA”, UK trap heavyweight M Huncho is in fine form on “Tuff Right?”. From intoxicating autotune vocals to ethereal, ambient sonic tones, the single hits all the right notes.
Miso Extra – “Certified”
Shape-shifting British-Japanese artist Miso Extra has announced the long-awaited release of her debut album, Earcandy, and shared another stellar teaser single, “Certified”. As progressive and playful as ever, the work is further example of why Miso is being heralded as one of the most captivating talents around.
nimino – “Shaking Things Up”
Fresh from the success of viral hit “I Only Smoke When I Drink”, British producer nimino unveils a rousing electronic banger. Brisk, jumpy and colourful, the house-adjacent cut further flaunts the wide-spanning and acute talent of the rising beatsmith.
Luna Morgenstern – “heartbreak hotel”
Songwriter and producer Luna Morgenstern haas shared her new EP “heartbreak hotel”, and a visual for the title track. Hauntingly beautiful and cascadingly piercing, the track is searching and powerful, whilst the Iceland-shot visuals are simply stunning.
Uche – “Here I Go”
One of the rawest new names emerging across the underground, LA rapper and creative Uche continues to tease his two-part album drop HOW TO LIVE / HOW TO DIE with new single “Here I Go”. Bursting with spacey, dystopian synths and power-charged 808s, the track quickly enchants Uche’s disruptive edge as he confronts the complexities of inner-city pressure and ambition. His infectious flows and razor-sharp lyrics become distorted through a hazy, nocturnal lens – the potent, monochrome music video portraying the intoxicating pull of temptation weighted by influence and unrelenting attention.
Waldo’s Gift – “Classic Waldi Anthem”
Sizzling with musical excellence, Malcolm’s Law, the new record from Bristol trio Waldo’s Gift, is a full-throttle and deftly thrilling masterpiece. Standout single “Classic Waldi Anthem” proves an adroit exemplar of the album’s technicality and tone.

BEX – “Tonight”
Hackney-born 10K Records signee BEX shares an acoustic-driven soulful single, “Tonight”. Vocally refined yet expressive, the rising talent shows a broad artistic capability on this stripped-back anthem.
Ríoghnach Connolly & Honeyfeet – “Nothing Can Stop Us“
Plucked from the compilation album curated by Lush co-founder Mark Constantine, Ríoghnach Connolly & Honeyfeet’s folk-tinged cover of Saint Etienne’s 1991-released gem is intimate yet lucid, a dreamy and daring reinterpretation of the classic.
Franc Moody – “Space Between Us”
Plucked from their forthcoming third album, out early March, Franc Moody’s groovy and idiosyncratic new single is a hell of a ride. “Space Between Us” is psychedelic and spacey, a throwback sound that still feels fresh and exciting.
Asha Banks – “Feel The Rush”
