CMAGIC5 – “HAPPY NEVER AFTER

Coming off an extraordinary 2024, Toronto’s own independent singer-songwriter and multi-talented musician, CMAGIC5 – also known simply as ‘C’ – has been blazing an electrifying trail. Her nuanced and irresistibly infectious sound captures the frenetic, energetic spirit of rock ‘n’ roll, seamlessly fused with edgy, power-pop vibrance. Delivering a relatable and heartfelt narrative that navigates the highs and lows of coming-of-age while celebrating the inner rebel, CMAGIC5 truly owned 2024. With over 5 million streams and 2 million listeners on Spotify, she also graced some of North America’s most iconic stages, cementing her status as a rising star to watch. Now, continuing her meteoric rise in 2025, C unveils “Happy Never After”, the captivating title track from her highly anticipated upcoming EP.

Listen to the track…

Packed with C’s signature razor-sharp lyricism, explosive modern pop-rock energy, and the raw aftermath of heartbreak, the track brims with fiery sass and unflinching honesty. Featuring driving guitar riffs, pulsating percussion, and an anthemic chorus, “Happy Never After” is a rebellious, magnetic masterpiece. It channels the very best of the 2000s pop-rock scene while delivering a fresh, bold, and daringly authentic perspective.

Putting an angst-ridden twist on the classic “happily ever after”, the songwriter shares, “I wanted to create a song that reclaims power after heartbreak, turning pain into empowerment. The idea sparked during a late-night writing session where the concept of a modern-day “anti-fairytale” resonated deeply. Drawing from personal experiences and stories of others navigating toxic relationships, the song evolved into a fierce anthem of self-love and strength.”

CMAGIC5 continues, reflecting on the release of the track and its accompanying narratives, sharing, “I created a track that’s a celebratory anthem for moving on from toxic ex-lovers, friends, or bosses—those people who play the role of “Prince Charming” or “Romeo,” but you can foresee the signs and know exactly how that last chapter of the story will end, unless you recognize the cues and opt out before the hurt. It’s all about empowering yourself and others to avoid getting hurt again and walking away before it’s too late.”
