PREMIERE: ALIAS – “CURSED”

The French multi-disciplinarian has returned with his punchy first offering of the year.

Raised in small town south of France, ALIAS has a striking and individualistic approach to music. Studying jazz at prestigious conservatories in Marseilles and his hometown, he proceeded to sharpen his craft in New York and Montreal, and has since been enlisted as an auditory contributor of Big Little Lies and Sharp Objects amongst others.

Following his critically acclaimed debut album, Jozef, raising ALIAS’ reputation to new heights last year, the creative has returned with his first new material of 2023. “CURSED” is worth the wait; storming and hypnotic synths lay precedent for a driving bass line and snappy drummers, with ALIAS offering a punk-tinged vocal performance full of bite and character.

Lyrically visceral, the track flaunts the boundless innovation of the polymath, who looks set to kick forward his artistic progression in the new year.
